Councilman and minister. Born June 21, 1923 in Terre Haute, IN. Married Elizabeth Flemister. Children: Nicholas III, Emory, Stephen, and Sarah Cyprian. Education: B.S. Purdue, 1945, B.A. North Central College, 1946, and B.D. Degree Yale University, 1949. He was a founding member of the Southern Leader-ship Council, Paster of Central Congregational Church, New Orleans, LA and Plymouth United Church of Christ (Congregational), Detroit, MI. Hood was the second African-American elected to the Detroit City Council. He was instrumental in the construction of the Medical-Cultural Center in Detroit and very active in urban renewal.
